Public Safety Swimming and Water Survival Course

Course Description: This course is designed to train Public Safety Personnel in the Aspects of Swimming and Water Survival. Only SCPSDI trained instructors are authorized teach this program.

Objectives:
1. The Candidate will demonstrate the ability to correctly preform swim strokes
2. The Candidate will be able to correctly asses the swimmers abilities via class/pool
3. The Candidate will demonstrate proper ‘Water Rescue” techniques in assisting self and a distressed swimmer
4. The Candidate will learn to apprehend a suspect while in the water

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Student evaluation training levels are as follows;
1. Low-Minimum Stress
2. Medium-Semi-Stressful
3. High-Very Stressful (As Real As It Can Get) based on actual cases/incidents


• Students are required to study all course materials
• Students must have an “Up-to-Date” Physical and SCSPDI form(s) will be provided ahead of time
• Minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 16
• Course Cost: $350.00 (includes all course materials and instruction)
• Does Not Include: Lodging, Meals and/or Transportation
